The Vampire’s Kiss Cocktail is a vodka, cranberry and Chambord martini with a blood-red complexion that adds a spooky layer to any Halloween party. Both sweet and tart, the drink is reddened with unsweetened cranberry juice and boozed up with vodka and Chambord, a cognac raspberry liqueur that deepens the red tones. Go the extra mile for your Halloween guests with a graveyard-like “smoke” effect, or drip grenadine down the glass for a bloody vampire theme.

If your Halloween party is witch or wizard-themed, try our Adult Butterbeer instead.

Bar Tools

  • JIGGER
  • COCKTAIL SHAKER
  • STRAINER

TO SERVE: MARTINI GLASS

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz VODKA
  • 1 oz CHAMBORD
  • ½ oz UNSWEETENED CRANBERRY JUICE
  • ½ oz LEMON JUICE
  • ½ oz GRENADINE

GARNISH: SUGAR RIM or SMALL DRY ICE PIECE

How to Make

Add vodka, Chambord, cranberry juice, lemon juice, and grenadine to your shaker. Shake ingredients together well. If you want to add a sugar rim to the glass, coat the outside of the rim heavily in grenadine and then dip it into sugar. Strain the drink into your martini glass. To add dry ice to your drink, use tongs to handle the small cube and drop it into the drink.

Remember: DO NOT drink dry ice! You and your guests must wait until the dry ice is fully dissolved to enjoy your Vampire’s Kiss Cocktail.

How to Serve

With the sugar rim and spooky dry ice trick, your Vampire’s Kiss Cocktail could be over and done. But decor can go a long way, such as adding raspberries to the rim of the drink or scattering them around the martini glasses for presentation — perhaps with some black glitter.

If you want to up the horror factor, consider adding a fake pair of vampire teeth to each drink or scatter them around on the table where the drinks are being served. These can easily be found at party stores or online.

FAQs

Is the Vampire’s Kiss sweet or sour?

A bit of both — the Vampire’s Kiss cocktail has a dash of sweetness from the Chambord and grenadine balanced by the tartness of the unsweetened cranberry juice and lemon.

Can I skip the dry ice?

While you won’t have the billowy smoke effect, the Vampire’s Kiss can look just as haunting with a drippy blood rim or other dark accessories.

What is Chambord?

Chambord is an upscale French liqueur with a cognac base. It can be served on its own or paired with cocktails that favor raspberry flavorings.
